Talk with Center for Election Science Executive Director Aaron Hamlin

  • Northeast Library 330 7th Street Northeast Washington, DC, 20002 United States (map)

Cosponsored with Effective Altruism DC, learn more about better voting methods and how they affect our political climate and policy-making with California-based Center for Election Science.

Join us for a talk by Aaron Hamlin, Executive Director of the Center for Election Science. CES is a nonpartisan nonprofit that advocates for better voting methods. As they say: "Our current choose-one (AKA plurality) voting method causes lots of issues, including increased polarization, hyper-partisanship, and suppression of new ideas. With a better voting method, we could elect better leaders who can implement policies that are reflective of what the electorate actually wants."

Attendees can also join a post-talk happy hour, at Bar Elena (location change) on H Street, hosted by the Center for Election Science.
