Committees

These are the committees defined within League of Women Voters of the District of Columbia. Click the view members link or the committee name to see a list of committee members. If visible for a committee, click the More info to view additional information about the committee. If there are subcommittees, a list of subcommittees will be displayed. Click on the name of the subcommittee to view the members.
This committee keeps track of local (DC) climate issues by networking with DC environmental groups. Climate Watchers confer with the president and/or board when LWVDC support or endorsement is requested for a letter to the City Council, for example. Occasionally, this committee organizes a presentation to inform League members of current issues, such as the presentation on Zero Waste DC in November 2022. Click on "More Info" for details.
Voter Services Committee
Committee - Voter Services Our Voter Services Committee seeks to register new DC voters, with a special emphasis on registering young people, new naturalized citizens and incarcerated people. We organize partnerships with like-minded organizations to extend our reach to as many potential voters as possible, and we provide voter registration training, registration materials, volunteers for registration events, and information and education that fosters civic engagement.
