Participate in LWVUS Federal Judiciary Study

At the 2024 LWVUS Convention members voted overwhelmingly to conduct a study on the federal judiciary as an essential component of US democracy. The study is set to be completed in a shortened time frame — in just one year, with the final position set to be announced at LWVUS Council in June 2025.The study seeks to address concerns about judicial accountability, transparency, independence and ethics of the US Supreme Court as well as the other Article III federal courts. Leagues nationwide are participating in this relevant and timely study by holding consensus meetings before April 14, 2025.

Visit the Federal Judiciary Page on the League Management Site (LMS) for the kickoff webinar recording and slides, timeline, resources, and what to expect in the coming months. Email lwvdc@lwvdc.org if you would like to be part of the LWVDC study group. Watch this space for information about the LWVDC consensus meeting.
