New Citizen Voter Registration & Annual Reception

  • US District Courthouse, 6th Floor 333 Constitution Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20001 United States (map)

League volunteers register new citizens immediately after the Naturalization Ceremony at the courthouse.

In celebration of our founding, we host an annual reception after the April Naturalization Ceremony to welcome the new citizens who have just been sworn in and congratulate them on taking this huge step.

This is a fun and rewarding event filled with food and voter registration forms.  to participate in.  We are known for providing a delicious feast - let’s make certain we uphold that tradition!

Volunteers are needed to provide food (lots of it!), help set up the reception, welcome guests during the reception, and help clean up after.  Any help you can provide is welcome!

Metro/Bus: Please use WMATA's trip planner for information on public transportation access.

Parking: Volunteers should expect parking to be very limited in this area.

Things to know: Identification and screening are required for entry to the Courthouse. Volunteers interested in attending the naturalization ceremony before helping register voters are encouraged to arrive at the courtroom by no later than 9:15 am - please allow time for getting through security beforehand. Once the doors close and the ceremony starts, you won't be able to get in.
