Independence Day Parade

Celebrate America's Birthday with us at the 51st Annual Palisades Parade.

Palisades is a favored tradition for city politicians, who benefit from one-on-one engagement with a friendly crowd. It's a great opportunity to meet the people who represent you!

We encourage members to consider joining us in the parade or cheering us on on the sidelines. Grab your favorite summer holiday gear (all white or red, white, and blue) and join in this fun local event!!

10:00am: Line up on Whitehaven Prkway between Our Lady of Victory School and the fire station. Please give yourself adequate time to find our group in the crowd.

11am: Parade Begins!  The parade goes from Whitehaven Pkwy, down MacArthur, takes a left on Edmunds, a left on Sherier and ends at the Palisades Rec Center. The entire route is approximately one mile walked at a very sedate pace.

Noon: Following the parade there is a free picnic for all at the Rec Center featuring hotdogs, watermelon, drinks, live music and moon bounces.

Contact:  Our parade day contact is Alex Dickson - phone: 202-276-2589. You can call or text her with questions on site.

What to expect. The route is approximately one mile and pace is strolling speed.  It will be HOT outside. We'll have water and umbrellas for everyone who let's us know they will be there.

The parade is scheduled rain or shine.

Join Us!

We're bringing water and umbrellas for shade for our volunteers.  Let us know if you will be there!
