Every two years, local leagues hold meetings to review the existing LWVUS positions and make recommendations for the national League program for the upcoming two years. Program Planning is the opportunity for each member to participate in the discussion of ideas for new studies, updates of current proposals, action on current positions, or education projects. Our National Program Planning Meeting will look at any recommendations for study of a national issue or action at the national level based on existing national postions.
To Prepare for Program Planning:
- REVIEW the national League positions in Impact on Issues (found on our website under Positions on Issues).
- CONSIDER whether you would recommend position changes, new studies, advocacy, or educational events on issues of interest to you.
- BRING a copy of Impact on Issues to the meeting for easy reference.
Program planning will culminate with adoption of a program of education and action at LWVUS Convention 2016 in Washington, DC in June. The input of League boards will help shape the proposed program of study and action that will be submitted to convention delegates for debate and adoption.
Coffee & Tea will be provided.
