Neighbors United for Statehood is a group of District citizens who believe that through grassroots community organizing and strategic congressional outreach we can be the foundation and driving force behind the DC Statehood movement. 

Founder of Neighbors United, D.C. native Josh Burch is one of the leading grassroot statehood activists in the city.

Keshini Ladduwahetty - Chair, DC for Democracy

DC for Democracy is the District’s largest unaligned progressive group of activists, community leaders and everyday voters working for positive change in our local government and recognition in America’s legislature. 

Keshini works on a wide range of progressive reform campaigns and electoral campaigns in the DC metro area, including statehood for the people of Washington, DC and campaign finance reform.

DC Appleseed works to solve problems affecting the daily lives of those who live and work in the National Capital area through collaboration with volunteer attorneys, business leaders, and community experts.  

Walter Smith was a member of the team of lawyers and legal scholars from D.C.who wrote the first draft constitution, presented in May 2016.
