Family Favorites: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow

To Foster Healthy Citizens in a Healthy Democracy

Yes, you can enjoy Grandma's lasagna, your favorite cheesecake or Holiday Hominy made with cream and grated cheese + while pursuing a prudent diet that guards good health. How? Get Family Favorites, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, a cookbook aimed at sustaining healthy citizens in a healthy democracy and published by LWVDC to celebrate its founding 90 years ago. And buy copies for others. It's a great Christmas present.

League members and friends around the country contributed the recipes, sometimes indicating how they've made sometimes-less-than-healthful family favorites more nutritious. Making the book fun to read are anecdotes about recipes' sources and history.

The book is 5 ½ x 8 ½ inches, has a soft washable cover and spiral binding, and contains almost 150 recipes as well as basic information such as cooking terms, calorie counts for common foods, measurement equivalencies, and helpful hints when baking breads and rolls.

Income from book sales will support League programs. Family Favorites, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow costs $15 a copy including postage when mailed within the United States. Checks should be made out to + give name and address of your League."
