The League is wholeheartedly political and influences policy through advocacy. Though we mobilize people to create civic change, the League does not support individual candidates for office.

Our Positions

Our Advocacy is founded in our positions. And only with our positions can we act. We:

  • act on an issue only when we have an LWVDC or national position or are acting under League principles.
  • never advocate in opposition to a League position.
  • may use any LWVDC or other national position to advocate at the District level.
  • may advocate using a League position at other government levels if authorized by national.
